It’s cold, it’s raining and quite frankly, it’s utterly miserable outside at the moment. So stay in!
But then it hits you. It’s not that great inside either.
You’re young, so you haven’t got all of that furniture and all of the little decorative trinkets that accumulate over time, and if you have, you haven’t got nearly enough. So we say, make them!
Instead of spending your time sitting around moaning about the weather, why not spend your time doing something useful?
Why not spend your time crafting some of these?
We’re giving away first class InterRail tickets, lunch at PizzaExpress, tickets to Bestival, and loads more… For a chance to win click below.
1. Button bowls
Stick your button collection around a balloon (and importantly) to each other. Then simply pop the balloon, clear up the mess and you’ve got yourself a bowl.
2. Button letter pictures
Glue, buttons, cardboard and a bit of artistic ingenuity and you’ll have yourself a great sign for your bedroom door (assuming you use the first letter of your first name). Stick it in a frame for best results.
3. Spirit bottle soap dispenser
Simply wash out a screw top spirit bottle, find a screw top soap dispenser and put it together.
4. DIY hand dotted tumblers
Blank glass tumblers, paint, and cotton wool buds are all you need for this one.
5. Decorative vases
Wrap thick elastic bands around a blank vase before spraying it with the coating of you choice. Let it dry, remove the bands, and enjoy your nicely decorated crafts.
6. Bottle-top coasters
A few nights heavy drinking and a bit of carefully applied glue should sort this one out.
7. Book planters
8. Tennis ball wall holder
Stick a sucker in the back, whack on some googly eyes and cut it a mouth. Done.
9. Custom clock hands
Print out your suitably sized picture and cut it out and maybe even laminate it before fixing it to the existing hands.
10. Charger holder
Use an old purse or wallet and hang it from your charger socket to store your charge-ables.
11. Cork planters
Hollow them out and plant. For some awesome fridge decorations just glue a magnet to them or simply stick them to whatever surface you want to hang them on.
12. Pebble place-mats
Stick some carefully chosen (and similar sized) stones to a form of liner, cut the visible edges away, be careful with how you’re placing it and you could soon have yourself some awesome placemats.
13. Cup cosy
Are you a whizz at knitting? If so here’s your next project to keep you coffee and tea warm.
14. Door bracket bookshelves
Fix some old door brackets to the wall and enjoy.
